Canon 60D, and a f/2.8 40mm lens. My first DSLR, or first any camera really..... i’ve been waiting for it for a while though!! just a few pictures from my garage today.... e34 front suspension rebuild (vogtland springs, e90 drop hats depending on fitment, koni shocks, new thrust and control arms, tie rods, hawk pads and cheapo rotors, and KMAC adjustable camber mounts, plus a set of Style 19 BBS i picked up for cheap), and bonus z32 with a now-diagnosed vacuum leak lol
any tips/criticisms?

Great! When you’re ready to buy a real DSLR, might I suggest the Nikon D300?
I kid, of course.

Great camera/ lens combination (if a bit long) if I could make a recomendation, I would get the 24mm f2.8 pancake next! It’s only $150 and gives you about a 40mm field of view!

Nice! I've been thinking about picking one up next week but I keep going back and forth on it. I'm just not sure I want to spend the money on it.
Cool 300zx by the way.

Are you shooting wide at f2.8? Some of these shots need more light, but thats it. Either a drop light, flash light, or try f2.8, or some combination of all of the above. Spot on composition though, loving a lot of these shots.

i’d definitely recommend it, they don’t depreciate much, so if it ends up sitting in a corner, you can sell it and get most of your money back!

That's true! And if my friends decides he doesn't want it, he could be giving it to me for 250 with some lenses. Which is quite a deal!

Low ISO is great, keep using a low ISO, but when you pair low ISO settings with a wider aperture, you can get the clean look with a little extra light. The downside is the shallower depth of field, so it does depend on what you want the picture to end up looking like, but I have confidence that if you’re starting off with this, you’re already on the right track.

Love the DoF on the 2nd and 3rd pic...also it takes a brave man to make Style 19s look good. Good luck and post pics when you are done.
